The CICADA study has been actively engaging with charities and organisations across the UK to capture the pandemic experiences of people from different immigrant communities who are living with chronic conditions and disabilities. We are really delighted to announce that community researchers from Europia will be supporting our research team. Eurropia researchers will be conducting interviews and exploring pandemic experiences of people from Central and Eastern European communities who are living with mental health conditions in the Manchester area. Operations Manager Karol Kochanowski reinforces how important it is to capture some of these unheard voices.
'Europia is based in Greater Manchester and provides support to give Central and Eastern European citizens the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to integrate into their local communities. We are delighted to be working with the CICADA team to ensure our clients from the European community have their voices heard on how the pandemic has affected their lives'.
People of Central and Eastern European heritage living in Manchester or the North West, who fulfil the study criteria and would like to be involved, can contact the team at Europia via elena.c@europia.org.uk. Alternatively, those living elsewhere in the country can contact the central research team at ioe.cicada-study@ucl.ac.uk.
